A Darlington building has hit the sale market for £620,000 - but the businesses, including Greggs, Savers and Best Kebab that are currently there will stay put, it has been confirmed.

Earlier this week, a sale advert for 67-69 Skinnergate in Darlington hit the market - offering the building for £620k.

Marketed by Parker Barras in Middlesbrough, the building, which faces the end of Duke Street in the town, is now seeking a new owner.

However initial concerns about the future of the businesses already inside the building have now been clarified, with each of the companies having medium to long-term leases on Skinnergate.

According to Parker Barras, the building is a perfect buy for any prospective owners, due to "strong covenants, five-year leases, good returns, and an excellent location".

According to the listing online, Savers agreed on a five-year lease deal in January 2024 - which yields £18,500 per year, while Greggs has a deal in the building until May 2028, and Best Kebab has a deal in the Skinnergate building until 2031.
