A motorbike rider has died after a crash involving a Fiat 500, as police launch an investigation into the fatal collision.
Officers received a report at 1.20pm on Saturday (April 13) of a collision between a Fiat 500 car and a Yamaha motorbike on the B1340 near Christon Bank, Northumberland.
Emergency services attended the scene and despite the efforts of paramedics the rider of the motorbike, a 34-year-old man, was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist Northumbria Police officers.

The female driver of the Fiat suffered minor injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital.
Officers have launched a full investigation into the collision.
Sergeant Michael Parnaby, of Northumbria Police’s Motor Patrols department, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the loved ones of the man who has sadly died.
“We will offer them any support we can at this extremely difficult time.”
Sgt Parnaby added: “We would ask that anyone with information regarding the collision or those who saw what happened in the moments leading up to it contact us.
“We are particularly keen to hear from those who have dashcam footage which could assist our investigation.”
