Police have launched an investigation after a firearm was shot at a house on Teesside late on Friday night.
A cordon was erected shortly after midnight on Shetland Avenue in Thornaby after reports a gun had been shot at a house.
What appeared to be a bullet hole could be seen in the window a property.
Crime scene investigators descended on the scene while the road was closed to residents. Pictures show officers in white suits examining what appear to be bullets next to two cylindrical objects in the road.
It is understood no one was injured in the incident.
A spokesperson for the Teesside force said: “Cleveland Police can confirm on the evening of Friday, April 12 a firearm was discharged in the Shetland Close area of Thornaby.
“Cleveland Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.”
It is the latest firearms incident to happen on Teesside in the last few weeks, although police have not linked this incident with others.
Just yesterday a 21-year-old man wanted in connection with two shootings in Grangetown was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
