A County Durham care home has ranked among the 20 best care homes in the North East for the third year running

HC-One’s Melbury Court care home in Durham received their award as part of Carehome.co.uk’s annual Care Home Awards in each region - an award which is voted on by residents and relatives.

The 87-bed home was recognised for its quality of care in its residential, nursing and dementia services it offers to the community.

It previously received a report of ‘good’ from the CQC in 2020 for its safe, caring and effective care which is well-led and responsive.

Melbury Court achieved an overall rating of 9.9/10, which was based on independent reviews.

Nicola Durham, Home Manager at Melbury Court said, “Our residents and their families, friends and loved ones are always at the heart of everything we do at Melbury Court and so it means the world to know that they recognise the dedication and kind care of the whole team.”

HC-One’s care homes have received nine top 20 awards over the years since being founded in 2011.
