A Darlington couple are hoping to sell their home and former cattery to move to their dream home in South Shields.

Mike and Muriel Marshall, 73 and 72 respectively, ran Just Cats boarding cattery until the pandemic hit and they made the decision to close.

Now the couple hope to sell their home on Whessoe Road for £450,000 in order to move to South Shields where they first met.

On Rightmove, you can view their property and submit offers over £400,000.

Mr Marshall said: "We have been here since 2001. We built the cattery and started what would have been an extension at the bottom of the property.

"Covid hit and my wife decided to close the cattery up completely.

"We have been looking to sell the property so that we can move to South Shields.

"It's where the family is and our grandchildren. It's also where we first met.

"The cattery is a business ready to go for anyone hoping to move in."

The property was built around 1895 and can be found on the outskirts of Darlington but still within easy access of the town centre.

A Rightmove spokesperson said: "The semi-detached bungalow itself is immaculately presented with a spacious lounge, a modern fitted kitchen, three bedrooms and the benefit of two bathrooms and a handy utility room.

"The home is warmed by Gas Oiled Central Heating and is fully double glazed throughout and is accessed via secure double electric gates leading into an extensive driveway providing ample off-road parking.

"In addition there are two large outbuildings with multiple rooms/pens, one formerly a cattery which is fully fitted, and the other not fitted, holding fantastic business opportunity."
