Two men who have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent appeared in court today after a 45-year-old man sustained a serious head injury during an incident in Guisborough last month.

The victim currently remains in hospital in a "serious but stable" condition after the incident and police believe his injury was sustained between 11:25pm and 11:53pm on Saturday 23 March in the Helmsley Drive area.

The males, aged 26 and 18, appeared in court this week (April 10) charged with the offence and have been remanded in custody until their next hearing.

Two other men, aged 32 and 30, were also arrested in connection with the incident and they were bailed pending further enquiries.
