A teenager has been taken to hospital following a crash which closed a County Durham road this morning.
Durham Police have confirmed a cyclist, 15, was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident on Sunderland, in Gilesgate, Durham, at about 1.45am today (Tuesday, April 9).
They also said the investigation concluded no one else was involved.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: “A cyclist has been injured in a collision in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, April 9).
“The incident happened on Sunderland Road, in Gilesgate, at about 1.45am.
“The 15-year-old rider was taken to the RVI, in Newcastle, for treatment.
“Investigations have concluded that no-one else was involved.
“The road was closed for several hours while officers attended the scene but has since reopened.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident this morning (9 April) at 1.41am on Sunderland Road in Durham.

“We dispatched one ambulance crew, one clinical team leader and one doctor.
“One patient was taken to RVI hospital."
Images of the scene showed a bicycle on the road, near Bells Fish and Chip Shop, surrounded by evidence markers.
