Further to those arrests, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday 7th April 2024 and a 29-year-old woman was also arrested today (Monday 8th April 2024).

Cleveland Police’s Local Policing Commander for Redcar and Cleveland, Superintendent Emily Harrison, said: “We know that people in our local community will be concerned by these incidents and at the thought that some people living around them may have access to firearms.

“We believe these are targeted attacks, but understand the concerns of the local community in feeling safe when these incidents are occurring around them.

“Those who behave in this manner and think it’s OK to possess weapons can expect to have the full force of the law thrown at them. We won’t tolerate it, and you will be brought to justice.
