A train between Durham and Newcastle has collided with an obstruction on the line, causing delays.
At around 6 pm, a train hit an unknown obstruction, which has had a knock-on effect on service provision. Delays are expected to persist until 7 pm tonight (Sunday, April 7).
National Rail said: "A train hitting an obstruction on the track between Durham and Newcastle is causing disruption to journeys running between these stations."
