Despite rain and wind bombarding the town at the beginning of the week, is appears that the rain will be clearing slightly this weekend with brighter spells and lighter showers, according to the Met Office.
It is set to be a wet and cloudy in Darlington and across the North East today (April 5) with strong winds mid-day with some small peaks of sunlight across the afternoon.
Today, there is certainly a risk of blustery showers as we head into the late afternoon as Met Office forecasters say we can expect a windier day with some bright spells and showers, but it is a warmer day with temperatures reaching a high of 15C.
Winds are also expected to reach up to 30mph by 3pm, where the heaviest shower of the day is expected to hit at around 4pm.

Heading into the weekend, The Forecaster predicts that "heavy rain" is set to make a return with "blustery showers".
High winds are set to hit 40mph on Saturday (April 6) alongside heavy rainfall in the morning, with a maximum temperature for the day reaching 18C.
Sunday (April 7) also brings high winds expected to reach 47mph, however this is predicted alongside lighter showers with a maximum temperature for the day reaching 13C.
