Temperatures in the North East are predicted to reach as hot as Spain this weekend - making our region as warm as some places in the Mediterranean.
If you've been feeling the blues from April showers then don't fear because warmer weather is on the way this weekend as temperatures are predicted to soar according to the Met Office.
Following a wet and grey start to the week, the forecaster says that there is an 80% chance of rain at 7am but will soon clear up by 1pm where temperatures peak at 18 degrees.
Here's what the Met Office has forecast so far:
7am: 12C - 80% chance of rain
10am: 15C - 30% chance of rain
1pm: 18C - 10% chance of rain
4pm: 17C - 10% chance of rain
7pm: 15C - 10% chance of rain
10pm: 12C - <5% chance of rain
The forecaster said: "Sunshine and blustery showers this weekend, risk of thunder and hail. Windy with upland gales. Monday, winds easing with rain later.
"Near normal temperatures, but rather warm Saturday."
It's not just the North East that is set to benefit from the sunshine, either. In Norwich, temperatures are set to peak at 20C.
In York, highs of 19C are forecast.
