A man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a firearm on Bank Holiday Monday, police have revealed.
Cleveland Police were were called to Richmond Court in Grangetown, Middlesbrough, at around 3.35am on Monday April 1 following a reported firearms incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: "A man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a firearm. His injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
"Officers will be continuing to carry out patrols in the local area to provide reassurance to the community.
"This is believed to be a targeted attack and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community at this time.
"Enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone with information or any relevant CCTV footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 058588.
