A County Durham man has pleaded guilty to threatening housing officers with a samurai sword at his home.
Wayne Porter, of Faraday Street, in Ferryhill, threatened the staff who were trying to repossess his home after failing to make payments.
On Monday (March 11) Porter became aggressive when told he was being evicted and threatened to assault the victims using a baseball bat.
He left the address before returning a short while later saying he was going to ‘cut them up’ whilst holding a samurai sword.
Porter then tried to hide the sword in a neighbour’s garden.

The 45-year-old was arrested and the sword was seized.
He was later charged with affray and two counts of threatening a person whilst in possession of a bladed article.
Porter appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on March 27, where he pleaded guilty to the offences.
