Police have released an image of a man they would like to trace following a disturbance in which a firearm was suspected to have been discharged.

Officers want to speak to Asif Hussain in connection with the incident on Severus Road in the Fenham area of Newcastle at 10.30pm on Monday (March 18).

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the scene after it was suspected that a firearm may have been discharged.

"No one was reported to have been injured and a full investigation was launched.

"Hussain, 26, is now wanted and is understood to be actively evading arrest. Extensive searches to locate him are ongoing and anyone harbouring Hussain should know they also face prosecution.
