The jury in the trial of a County Durham mum accused of murder is yet to reach a verdict after a day of deliberations.

Christina Robinson, 30, has been on trial at Newcastle Crown Court for the last three weeks accused of murdering her three-year-old son Dwelaniyah at their home on Bracken Court, Ushaw Moor in November 2022.

She denies murder and four charges of child neglect.

After three weeks of evidence the jury went out to consider a verdict on Tuesday (March 19) evening, but was sent home for the night after just half an hour.

After a full day of deliberations on Wednesday the jury was yet to reach a verdict.

They will continue their discussions on Thursday.

The trial was listed to last four weeks, but the jury was earlier told they are under no time pressure to come to a verdict.
