The Bradley Lowery Foundation have revealed that past GMB presenter Rachel Sweeney has become a brand-new patron of the charity.

The County Durham-born presenter and journalist will join an impressive list of patrons including Jermain Defoe and Sara Davies.

A former presenter on GB news, Rachel Sweeney currently works as a freelance broadcast journalist and has been a long-time supporter of the foundation.

Reflecting on her new position, Rachel said: “It's difficult to articulate the level of honour I feel in becoming a patron of The Bradley Lowery Foundation alongside Jermain Defoe and Sara Davies.

The Northern Echo:

“Bradley's story deeply touched my heart during my time covering it as a journalist. His resilience and light were truly inspiring. Bradley’s mother, Gemma, demonstrated extraordinary strength that left everyone in awe.

“Her ability to channel her pain into creating a lasting legacy for her son is something I deeply admire. Bradley's journey sparked important conversations about childhood illness and how we approach them. The foundation has transcended being merely an organisation; it has become a beacon for the North East.

“I am immensely proud to join the team as a patron and am committed to working tirelessly for them. Whether it's hosting events or lending a hand, I'll be there every step of the way.”
