A man has been arrested after armed police were called to a house following reports of a man 'making threats' and causing damage in a property. 

At about 1.45pm on Friday (March 15), officers from Cleveland Police received a report of a disturbance that saw a man make threats and cause damage inside a property on Woodland Street, Stockton, whilst possibly in possession of a knife.

Armed officers attended the property, alongside dog units and other police officers.

No one was injured in the incident, according to police, with officers on the scene for about an hour and a half.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage. He remains in police custody at this time.

During the incident, armed police could be seen on Woodland Street, while bystanders were moved from the road to allow police to work. 

The whole of Woodland Street was blocked by police cars during the incident, with armed police seen entering a property and carrying searches during Friday afternoon.
