Emergency services were called to a car fire on the A1 northbound yesterday.
The incident took place at the Darlington junction at 10.58am.
Fire crews from Durham, Darlington and were dispatched to the scene.
The crew from Darlington handled the fire and put it out.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Durham and Darlington passed an incident on to North Yorkshire, reporting a car fire.

"Richmond crew were sent to join two crews from Darlington who were already en route.
"When Richmond crew arrived, Darlington were in attendance and confirmed a car fire had occurred.
"Darlington dealt with this incident, inspection only by Richmond crew."
