The weather is set to be a mixed bag for us across the North East on Tuesday (March 12) with spells of cloud and showers.

Forecasters predict a dry start to the day but train will soon come over from the west, turning heavy at times in some places later in the morning and into the afternoon.

High temperatures will be about average for the time of year at 10C, the Met Office has said, but those feels like temperatures will be low for most of the day, warming into the evening.

And its set to be much of the same for the next few days as it’ll stay unsettled with spells of rain, wind and cloud as we head towards the weekend.

What will the weather be like later in the week?

On Wednesday it’ll be windy and cloudy with spells of heavy rain in some areas. It’s expected to be mild with highs of 13C and winds easing into the day..

Heading into the weekend it will be staying unsettled and windy at times, especially on Friday. Rain will often be heavy but it will remain relatively mild.
