Police chased a balaclava-clad 14-year-old motorbike rider through the streets of Darlington on Sunday (March 10).
Officers from Durham Police's roads team pursued the teenager after seeing a motorbike wrapped in cling film cruising towards Darlington alongside another motorbike.
After chasing after the two bikes, police say that one of them stopped while the other made off from the scene.
Pulling over the vehicle, police have since confirmed that the boy, 14, was missing from the Cleveland Police area.
He was reported for several offences and returned home, while the bike will now be crushed.
Following the police chase incident, a spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Operation endurance in Darlington today (March 10).
"We took a brief break at the local services when this “motorcycle” and another cruised on past towards Darlington wearing tracksuits and balaclavas.
"Quick off the mark, we went after them as the initial concern was that they may have gone into the A1M - however, they had gone along the A167.
