One person has been taken to hospital following a crash over the weekend.
Main Street in Ponteland was reportedly crowded with a large emergency service presence last night following a crash.
According to eyewitnesses, police, a riot van and an ambulance were all at the scene just before 7:30pm on Saturday.
The ambulance service has now confirmed that one person was taken to hospital.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Main Street, Ponteland, at 7.24pm on 9 March.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and transported one patient to the RVI for further treatment."
Northumbria Police has been contacted for more information.
