A man was taken to hospital with a head wound following a disturbance in Newton Aycliffe at the weekend.
A man is set to appear in court charged with an alleged serious assault in connection with the incident in Lindon Place, Newton Aycliffe on Sunday (March 3).
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a disturbance an address in Linden Place on Sunday (March 3).
"A man in his late 30s sustained a wound to the back of his head and was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
"Declan Robb has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage."
The 18-year-old, of Espin Walk, Newton Aycliffe, who appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, was been remanded into custody and is set to appear at Durham Crown Court on April 3.

Detective Inspector Peter Lonsdale said: "This was an isolated incident and I would like to reassure the public that there is no wider risk to the community.
“Officers across all departments and in particular the South Durham Volume Crime Team have worked around the clock to secure evidence and put Mr Robb before the courts at the earliest opportunity.”
