Plans to build 21 homes near North Yorkshire village

A VARIATION on plans to build 21 homes on land west of Dalton Motors, Dalton, North Yorkshire, has been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.

The indicative site layout proposes 21 dwellings comprising the following: four one-bed back to back bungalows; eight two-bed semi-detached houses; one two-bed bungalow; four three-bed semi-detached houses; three three-bed detached houses; and one four-bed detached house.

The plans have been re-submitted to North Yorkshire Council to clarify questions raised from the developers about sewers and drainage to Yorkshire Water, regarding confirmation over a sewer needing removing or not.

Owner's plan to turn field into equestrian use, North Yorkshire

RETROSPECTIVE planning permission to create an area to keep and exercise horses has been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.

The plans include the permanent siting of mobile field shelters and sheds to be used for feed, storage and equestrian equipment, as well as a lunge pen and access tracks to the field, off Yarm Lane, Great Ayton.

Applicant Claire Copeland said: "I have four horses in total, and I am in the process of rehabilitating three ex-racehorses. I find working with these horses a pleasure and this has a huge impact on my own wellbeing.

Demolition of Darlington care home to make way for new facility

The Northern Echo:

PLANS to demolish a former care home and build a replacement care home for people with learning disabilities and autism have been submitted to Darlington Borough Council.

The plans consist of six apartments with associated gardens and ancillary rooms together with a detached meeting building, parking provision, external lighting, replacement fencing, landscaping and associated works, at South Park Care Centre, Lakeside, Darlington.

County Durham primary school's plans for classroom expansion

The Northern Echo:

A PRIMARY school has submitted plans to Darlington Borough Council to build an extension.

The plans, at Heighington Church of England Primary School, include building two flat roofed infill extensions and construction of external tensile fabric covered canopy, with associated hard landscaping and internal works.

A design and access statement has been prepared by Eddisons on behalf of Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust to support a planning application for two small infill flat roofed extensions to create a new reception classroom facility and associated toilet facilities and a tensile fabric external covered canopy to the existing play area.

Landmark North Yorkshire hotel destroyed by fire a decade ago set for demolition

The Northern Echo: PLANS for the partial demolition of a landmark North Yorkshire hotel, which was destroyed by fire ten years ago this month, have been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.

The demolition work refers to what remains of the hotel building – including the first floor bridge, kitchen block, single storey lean-to, garage and metal staircase – at The Bridge House Hotel, Catterick Village, North Yorkshire.

The Bridge House Hotel in Catterick Bridge - opposite Catterick Racecourse - was empty when the blaze began shortly after 11pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, as it was undergoing renovation.

The demolition works seeks to remove the worst-hit parts of the building to make way for restoration work on some of the most historic areas.

Details of proposed Darlington development

The Northern Echo:

FURTHER details of plans for a nine-house development near Darlington have been submitted to the local planning authority.

The application is for reserved matters approval relating to appearance, landscaping, layout and scale for the erection of home homes at land Off Merrybent, A67, near Darlington.
