A woman who was 'moments from death' after collapsing at home has thanked police officers who performed vital CPR on her and saved her life.
Officers from Ferryhill were called to an address on Derwent Road following reports of concerns for an unresponsive woman on Monday, January 15.
After arriving on the scene, PC Dave Ditchburn and PCSO Chris Lloyd discovered the woman, Jodie, was not breathing so immediately started CPR.
After performing CPR for a couple of minutes, Jodie began to show signs of life and started to breathe again.
The help from the neighbourhood policing team was followed by aid from the Roads and Armed Policing Unit, who applied a defibrillator and continued to monitor her before paramedics arrived.
Jodie was transported to the hospital and remained there for three days under observation until she returned home to her family.

Last Monday, she met with the team with a box of chocolates in hand and thanked them for their lifesaving efforts.
She brought her daughter Lillie who was very excited to meet the officers and look around the police station.
This included Lillie getting a ride in a police car - with the family appreciative of the fast-thinking actions of the officers.
