The A66 eastbound onto the A172 and the A172 to the A66 westbound sliproad have is currently closed due to an ongoing incident.
There are also closures in place on Borough Road at the West Terrace junction in Middlesbrough and North Ormesby Road at the junction with Borough Road.
The police are urging drivers to avoid the area while the incident is being dealt with.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "The A66 eastbound slip road to the A172 and the A172 to the A66 westbound slip road is currently closed due to an ongoing incident.
"There is also a closure in place on Borough Road at the junction with West Terrace, Middlesbrough, and North Ormesby Road at the junction with Borough Road.
"Drivers are urged to avoid the area or find an alternative route whilst the incident is dealt with."
