Drivers in and around County Durham will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But to the relief of motorists, they are all expected to cause only minor delays, adding no more than 10 minutes to journey times.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  •  A66, from 8am February 5 to 4.30pm March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Old Spittal Farm to Smallways, traffic signals and lane closures for technology works.
  •  A167, from 3pm November 24 2022 to 8pm March 18 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M, junction 59 interchange, 24/7 Lane closure for investigation works for structures.
