County Durham's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

  • A1(M), from 7am December 2 2023 to 6am February 29 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M southbound, junction 58 to junction 57 hard shoulder lane closure for concrete protection for bridge strike.
  • A66, from 8am February 5 to 4.30pm March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Old Spittal Farm to Smallways, traffic signals and lane closures for technology works.
  • • A167, from 3pm November 24 2022 to 8pm March 18 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M, junction 59 interchange, 24/7 Lane closure for investigation works for structures.
  • A19, from 8pm September 18 2023 to 5.30pm February 25 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 north and southbound, A182 Interchange, carriageway and lane closures for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
