Two men accused of the 'hit and run' murder of a man in Ingleby Barwick have been named for the first time after appearing in court on Monday (February 12).

Shaun Breeze, 29, and Martin Breeze, 66, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court - charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder.

This comes after an incident on Myton Way, in The Rings area of Ingleby Barwick, late on Friday where a van was allegedly "intentionally driven at a group of people" on a footpath.

Emergency services were called just before 11.35pm when a white Citroen Berlingo van appeared to have been intentionally driven towards a group of people on a footpath.

A 60-year-old died at the scene, and two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Senior Investigating Officer Temp Detective Chief Inspector Mathew Hollingsworth said: “We would like to thank residents for their patience and co-operation while numerous officers remain in the area conducting enquiries, and would again appeal for anyone with information, doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch.
