Two County Durham residents have been fined in court for letting their dogs stray and failing to pick up their dogs' poo.

The two people, who are from the Stanley area, were reprimanded by Durham County Council wardens - who issued them with a notice to pay a fine for the offences.

However, after they weren't paid - the two dog owners were issued with court dates, where they have been fined.

The Neighbourhood Warden witnessed a dog fouling on the grass of Eden Terrace, Oxhill with no owner present.

The dog returned to the address and the warden approached and spoke to the owner. They were issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £100 for allowing their dog to foul. The Fixed Penalty Notice was never paid and a case file was prepared for the courts. They now have a total of £114 to pay.
