A driver was taken to hospital after a car collided with a stationary vehicle and flipped onto its roof.

Emergency services were called to The Causeway, in Billingham, at 8.15pm on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said the car involved was a black Dacia Duster Laureate.

She said: “The driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to North Tees Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.”

The person was taken to hospital by North East Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on The Causeway in Billingham at 8.15pm on 30 January.

"We dispatched one ambulance crew and an officer and transported one patient to North Tees Hospital for further treatment."

The Northern Echo: Cleveland Fire Brigade also attended the incident.

A spokesperson said: “Two fire engines were in attendance from Billingham and Stockton.

“Crews made the scene safe and gave first aid before arrival of the ambulance.”
