Today we name nine men made subject of domestic violence protection orders in Darlington and County Durham.

Some of the men have appeared in court for breaching existing orders. 

The cases have been heard this month (January) at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court. 

Craig James Dixon, 40, of Avon Street, Peterlee, appeared in court for breaching a domestic violence protection order on January 20, made by Teesside Magistrates Court on January 19. The court heard he was in breach by being in contact with the complainant.

He admitted the breach and was jailed for four weeks as "the offence so serious because of a deliberate breach of a court order". 

William Edward Taylor, 41, of North Street, Spennymoor, appeared in court for breaching a domestic violence protection order on January 2 in Spennymoor, by going to an address he was prohibited from.  The order was made by Peterlee Magistrates' Court on December 22, 2023. 

He admitted the breach and was jailed for 28 days because of his "flagrant disregard for court orders".

Callum Hay, 26, of Tenth Street, Horden, appeared in court for breaching a domestic violence protection order in Murton on January 23. The order was made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on January 16. He was in breach because he went to the address of a woman he was prohibited `from being in contact with.

He admitted the breach and was jailed for four weeks because of his "flagrant disregard for people and their property".

Joshua Orr, 29, of Park Road, Stanley, appeared in court for breaching a domestic violence protection order on January 2 at South Moor. The order was made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on December 28, 2023. He was in breach because he was at an address he was prohibited from being.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was jailed for two months because of his "flagrant disregard for court orders".

Dean Bartley, 32, of no fixed abode appeared at court where an application for a domestic violence protection order was granted for 28 days.

The defendant must not molest the associated person by any means including via social media, and in particular shall not enter two specified addresses in Crook.

Mark Thompson, 35, of Winterbottom Avenue, Hartlepool, was made subject to a domestic violence protection order for 28 days, for the protection of a named woman. 

The order says he must not molest the woman and must not contact her by any means whatsoever including social media. He must not contact her or enter a specified address in Darlington.

Alan Palmer, 44, of Marx Crescent, Stanley, was made the subject of a domestic violence protection order for 28 days,

The order stipulates he must not molest the associated woman. This includes contact by any means whatsoever including social media and molestation in general, to particular acts of molestation. He was ordered to remove himself from a specified address in Stanley and prohibited from entering the premises.

Ayden Carrick, 31, of Yarm Road, Darlington,  was made subject of a domestic violence protection order for 28 days, for the protection of a specified woman.

He is forbidden from contacting her by any means and prohibited from entering a specified address in Darlington.

Stephen Hauxwell, 58, of no fixed abode, was made subject of a domestic violence protection order for 28 days. 

The defendant must not molest the specified woman or contact her by any means whatsoever, including social media. He was also ordered to leave a premises in New Brancepeth and is prohibited from entering the address.
