Drivers in and around Darlington will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1(M), from 7am December 2 2023 to 6.30am February 1 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M southbound, junction 58 to junction 57 hard shoulder lane closure for concrete protection for bridge strike.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1(M), from 8pm January 25 to 6am January 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 57 to junction 58 lane closure for maintenance works.

• A66, from 8pm February 5 to 5pm March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Blackwell, traffic signals for construction works to renew driveways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
