A suspected cannabis grow was discovered in a house after a fire broke out.
The blaze started at a property on Eden Court in Horden, County Durham at about 8.30pm on Friday (January 19) night.
Firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze.
Nobody was inside the property at the time and nobody suffered any injuries.
Police attended and discovered a large amount of cannabis plants inside the house, which were seized.
An investigation into both the circumstances of the fire and suspected cannabis grow has been launched.
Durham Police said: “Officers attended a fire at an address in Eden Court, Horden, at around 8.40pm on Friday, January 19.

“Crews from County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service (CDDFRS) also attended and extinguished the fire.”
A CDDFRS spokesperson added: “Shortly after 8.25pm on Friday we were alerted to a fire within a property on Eden Grove, Horden.
“Two fire crews attended to extinguish the blaze and the last crew left the scene shortly before 10.30pm.”
