The new year has been welcomed with open arms and a revitalised spirit at Middleton Hall Retirement Village.

After a busy and hectic festive season, residents across the retirement community have started 2024 in the same positive spirit with a delicious new menu, joyful social events and a newly refurbished fitness facility to enjoy.

The award-winning retirement community at Middleton St George, near Darlington, has a mix of independent retirement properties, supported apartments and high-quality care services located in a stunning 45-acre estate which includes a range of communal facilities.

These include the village’s Health & Wellbeing Centre with a fully equipped gym, pool, jacuzzi and personal therapy services, which has recently been refurbished.

Just before Christmas residents from across the village attended an event to celebrate the official launch of the re-branded facility. With a revised timetable and a new weekly yoga class on offer, the centre is now well placed to support New Year’s fitness resolutions and is welcoming new members from the surrounding community.

In January celebrations were also taking place elsewhere, as residents, friends and family from the village’s Middleton Court higher dependency care service got together for a thoroughly enjoyable New Year-themed party.

Middleton Court offers residential accommodation for those who require higher levels of care support and focuses on enhancing residents’ social, intellectual, and emotional wellbeing alongside their physical health care needs. Regular social activities and parties form part of that and residents are also supported to make good use of our extensive on-site recreational facilities, such as the Health & Wellbeing Centre pool and gym, as well as the beautiful estate and The Orangery café.

The new year has also seen the rollout of a fresh and vibrant menu for meals served in the restaurants of the care services and Middleton Grove supported apartments. Unveiled in December at a food tasting session for residents by Head Chef Ian de Hoedt, the menu includes comfort classics and exciting innovations packed with quality, nutritious ingredients carefully designed to meet everyone’s dietary needs.

With fabulous food, luxury facilities to support fitness and wellbeing goals and a social calendar to help people stay entertained and connected, the new year has certainly got off to a flying start.
