Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on a County Durham road.
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) has confirmed three people have been taken to hospital after they received a report of a collision at 2:04pm today (January 19) on the B1287 junction with Lord Byron’s Walk in Seaham.
They confirmed they deployed two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, and a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.
One patient was taken to the Sunderland Royal Hospital, while two others were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 2.04pm this afternoon (Friday 19 January) to reports of a road traffic incident on the B1287 junction with Lord Byron’s Walk in Seaham.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, and a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.
"One patient was taken to the Sunderland Royal Hospital and two further patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary for further treatment.”
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly after 2.15pm today to a two-vehicle collision on Seaham Coast Road.
"One person has been taken to hospital for treatment.
"Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
