A popular pizzeria in Darlington has re-opened after two weeks when it had a serious revamp.

Hideaway Bar & Pizzeria shut at the start of the month to undergo a refurbishment.

During that time it has been painted, decorated and had a new heating system installed.

The staff have already been getting good feedback in the refurbishment.

Tom Dexter, owner and operator of Hideaway Bar & Pizzeria, said: "After a good reaction on social media we can see people are looking forward too seeing the changes we have made to the bar after being closed for 2 weeks.

"We have installed a big screen for the sports fans, which is linked into our new surround sound speaker system so the ‘foodies’ will not be disturbed while sat at the other side of the bar.

"We have also painted & decorated to ensure a warm and homely feel for our food & drink customers.

"A new heating system has been installed to try keep the poorly insulated old building warm and comfortable throughout the winter.
