Cleveland Police have arrested a boy in Norton on suspicion of vehicle theft and dangerous driving.

While on patrol officers spotted a suspected stolen vehicle at around 9.15pm on January 15 in Stockton.

The vehicle failed to stop for them and continued driving before colliding with two vehicles on Beaconsfield Road in Norton.

Two males fled from the scene and with the help of the National Police Air Service a 16-year-old was detained.

He has been bailed while the investigation continues.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Whilst on patrol, officers spotted a suspected stolen vehicle at around 9.15pm on Monday 15th January in Stockton.

"The vehicle reportedly failed to stop for officers and collided with two vehicles before it came to a stop on Beaconsfield Road in Norton.

"Two males reportedly made off from the scene and, with the help of the National Police Air Service, a 16-year-old male was detained.

"The male was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving. He was bailed pending further enquiries."
