Two children were left injured after the car they were travelling in came off the carriageway of the A1(M) on Friday (December 29) and came to rest on an embankment.
Emergency services were called to an incident on the major A-road near Boroughbridge at around 10.30am, following reports of a one-vehicle collision.
After arriving on the scene, police, fire crews and paramedics found a car that had left the carriageway.
While all of the people involved in the single-vehicle crash were out of the car, fire crews have since confirmed that paramedics checked over two children who were in the car for head and neck injuries.
