A Darlington crumble dessert and café is heading into 2024 with a fresh look and re-brand after it opened six months ago.

The Bumble Crumble on West Row in Darlington first opened in the town in June 2023, and has seen a boom in business that led to their expansion just nine weeks after they first opened.

Serving up freshly made crumble, sandwiches and coffee, owners Kerry and Tommy first opened the business under the description it was a "tearoom with a twist."

Now, the business has undergone a re-brand and is now known as Crumble & Co, and will re-open in early January.

In a short statement on their Facebook page, the current owners announced the news and reassured customers that their favourite desserts will be back soon enough.

It reads: "It’s that time of the year when we take the time to restock and recharge the last few months have been difficult due to various personal reasons so we have taken the decision to close The Bumble Crumble.

"However, don’t panic, your crumbles aren’t going anywhere!

"We have decided to allow the business to move forward with new management, we are excited that the business will continue to grow albeit under new leadership there will be a handover period and also a period of revamping but the bumble will go forward as Crumble & Co.

"From what we’ve been told, there will be a new menu, new crumbles, local direct deliveries and so much more.

"Re-opening Jan 7th and we wish you the best for the rest of your holidays and the Crumble & Co will be back in the new year!"
