Death in Paradise fans will now be accustomed to the show airing some sort of special episode around the festive period and that will be no different for 2023.
Once again DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) and his team will be investigating a murder on the Caribbean island of Saint Marie.
The story will follow the death of entrepreneur Gerry Stableforth (Geoff Bell) after being found in a ravine, and things take an unexpected turn when his family's visiting digital marketing guru, Debbie Clumson (Bronagh Waugh) goes missing.
Elsewhere, Neville's larger-than-life mum, Melanie (Doon Mackichan) comes to spend Christmas with her son on the island, What to Watch reports.

The episode will also be a bit longer than a regular series one at a feature-length 90 minutes.
A summary of the episode on the Radio Times reads: "The team investigates when an entrepreneur is found dead in a ravine, but things take a turn when his family's digital marketing guru suddenly disappears.
"Neville's mum Melanie arrives on the island and teams up with Catherine to take the Saint Marie dating scene by storm and the Commissioner's big Christmas lights switch-on comes to an awkward stop."
Discussing the Christmas Special Ralf Little shared: "It also feels like a luxury because we’ve got 90 minutes to spend with the characters. But do you know what depresses me the most about filming a Christmas special? The presents under the tree are just empty boxes — psychologically, that’s a real downer!"
