Today we name five people who failed to identify the drivers who were speeding in their cars in County Durham and Darlington.

The cases were heard in Peterlee Magistrates' Court.

John Leith, 68, of The Green, Great Burdon, Darlington, was charged with exceeding 30 mph on June 9 in a Porsche on Carmel Road South, Darlington.

The offence was withdrawn, but he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required. The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Mark Pallister, 41, of Whinside, Stanley, was charged with exceeding 30 mph on June 9 in a Seat on the B6173 Tanfield Lea Road, Tanfield Lea.

The offence was withdrawn, but he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £706. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

George-Adrian Alexe, 51, of North Bridge Street, Sunderland, was charged with exceeding 30 mph on May 17, in a Volkswagen on the A693 Blind Lane, Chester-le-Street. 

The offence was withdrawn, but he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver. The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay and fine and costs of  £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Michael Williams, 45, of Crawley, West Sussex, was charged with exceeding 30 mph on May 25 in a Volkswagen on Thompson Street East, Darlington.

The offence was withdrawn but he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required. The case was found proven and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs £1,014. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Dean Henderson, 58, of Riccall Lane, Kelfield, York, was charged with exceeding the 40 mph speed limit on May 31, in a Ford on the A167 in Ferryhill.

The offence was withdrawn, but he was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required. The case was found proved and he was ordered to pay a fine and costs of £1,0145. Driving record endorsed with 6 points.
