Funnyman Paddy McGuinness has announced a new stand-up tour eight years after he last hit the road, including three North East dates.

The actor and comedian turned presenter, famous for shows including Phoenix Nights and Top Gear, will perform 40 dates starting next autumn.

He will visit the Sunderland Empire, Middlesbrough Town Hall, Newcastle City Hall, and Stockton Globe at various points throughout the tour.

Paddy said: “It’s been eight years since my last tour and there’s lots of things to laugh about! I’m looking forward to getting back in front of a live audience, along with running the gauntlet of cancel culture, click bait and fake news.”

McGuinness last toured in 2016 prior to his stint hosting BBC’s Top Gear, which it was announced last month would not be returning after co-host Freddie Flintoff was injured in a serious crash.

He has also started on shows including Max and Paddy, The Keith and Paddy Picture Show, and Take Me Out.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Paddy said: "I’ve been itching to tell you this!
