I’m A Celebrity kicked off with a variety of tasks for the 10 new campmates who gave it their all to earn the first lot of stars for food.

This included the iconic heights challenge which usually takes place on the first episode to test the celebrity’s fears.

For the 2023 series, ITV viewers watched contestants Grace Dent, Sam Thompson, Danielle Harold and Fred Sirieix take to Focus Tower for the skyscraper challenge during strong winds and heavy rain.

After arriving by helicopter, they were told by hosts Ant and Dec that they must climb down.

All four of them had to inch sideways along the building before sliding down to a horizontal flat pole, crawling along in a race against the clock to unclip carbineers in order to release their star print flag.

Danielle and Fred won the first two stars by completing the task on I’m A Celeb.

Sam struggled before he gave it his best shot, saying: “I’m scared of heights and I didn’t even know I was scared of heights,” but still managed to complete it, as did Grace.

But have you ever wondered where Focus Tower is in Australia and how tall it is? Let’s find out.

Where is Focus Tower in Australia on I’m A Celebrity and how tall is it?

Focus Tower is located at Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast.

The luxury apartment block is a 32-storey building providing serene sea views.

It is 96m tall and is made of reinforced concrete unit tower, reports The Sun.

Focus Tower was the tallest building on the Gold Coast from 1976 until 1977, designed by architects Clark & Gazzard Partners.

It has many amenities for residents including a heated pool, jacuzzi, gym, BBQ and picnic areas, landscaped gardens and a Chinese restaurant to name a few.

I’m A Celebrity has been using the giant building for challenges since 2017.

In a previous series, Jacqueline Jossa, Kate Garraway, Ian Wright and Andrew Maxwell had to walk a plank at the top of it in 2019.
