Martin Lewis has had his say on rumours linking him with a job as a permanent presenter on This Morning.

The Money Saving Expert, who makes regular appearances on the ITV morning show, along with occasional presenting appearances on sister show Good Morning Britain, had been linked to the presenting vacancy left by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

However, Martin took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to unequivocally state he would not be the new This Morning presenter.

Describing the rumours as “hilarious”, Martin told those linking him with the role to “move on”.

He said: “A few stories have appeared that I am bookies favourite to take over as presenter of This Morning. Hilarious!

“If anyone put money on that they’d lose it.

“A) I've rightly not been sounded out in any way at all.

“B) In any case I would and have rejected all daily presenting gigs, I'm already over full time with MSE and my show etc.

“C) Id be crap at it (the lighter side especially) and wouldn't put me or you through it, there's far better out there.

“So to the bookies... move on. Nowt to see here.”

Martin Lewis highlights costly thermostat mistake

With temperatures dropping, the Money Saving Expert recently warned people of the common thermostat mistake that is costing them money over winter.

Answering questions from the audience members at The Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV, Martin was told that one person would turn their thermostat up by one degree during the colder months.

This was highlighted by the Money Saving Expert, who said the process was “costly” and “unnecessary”.

He said: “A thermostat says: 'we will keep it at a set temperature'. Why are you turning it up in winter? That's what the thermostat does.

“If you want it to be 20 degrees it will stay at 20 degrees and that's the right temperature for you.

“You don't turn your thermostats up in winter, you just let it get to the heat. That's all you need to do."
