Hundreds gathered in Darlington on Saturday (November 11) to celebrate the sights, sounds and illuminations of the Diwali lantern parade.
As part of this year's Indian festival, the Diwali lantern parade started at 4pm in the town centre, before crowds made their way through various streets to celebrate the cultural event.
Earlier in the day, there was a free drop-in Lantern and Diwali Crafts session with Shirley Wells at Queen Street Shopping Centre, before the festivities kicked off for the evening.

The Lantern Parade began on Northgate, where the crowds then headed towards the Market Cross through alleys and streets.
There was a fantastic display from the Dhol Drummers and Banghra Dancers, who joined the parade, bringing movement and sounds to the event.
The event was for the whole community, with Darlington College lanterns made by the students displayed in shop windows.
There was also a host of schools participating, including St Mary's Cockerton, Gurney Pease, St Johns, St Augustine's and Croft on Tees primary schools.
Following the event, which was powered by the Newcastle Building Society, there were hot drinks in the building society building.
