Two people, including a teenager, have been taken to hospital after a serious collision involving a bus and a pedestrian in Middlesbrough today (Thursday, November 9).
Police cordoned off the scene and an air ambulance landed to assist in the incident.
Emergency services attended Borough Road in Middlesbrough at about 8.15am, following reports of a crash.
The road was cordoned off to allow police officers to investigate the scene and ambulance crews to tend to casualties.
Officers closed the roads around the junctions of Borough Road/Lennox Street and Borough Road/Marton Road following a collision involving a female pedestrian and a bus at about 8.10am.
A 17-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries and she remains there at this time whilst receiving treatment.
All roads have now reopened.
The Great North Air Ambulance has confirmed that a person was taken to hospital via road ambulance. The North East Ambulance Service said that a second person was also taken to hospital.

A Great North Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "Our critical care team was activated at 8.14am to reports of a road traffic collision in Middlesbrough. We had two doctors and a paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 8.19am.
"They worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assess and treat a patient, and the patient was taken to hospital by a NEAS road crew, accompanied by our team."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to a road traffic collision on Borough Road, Middlesbrough this morning (9 November) shortly after 8am.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews, one clinical team leader and were supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service. Two patients were taken to James Cook University Hospital."
