Teesside Airport was forced to close this morning after a power cut hit the terminal building.
The airport, just outside Darlington, was forced to shut after the power outage hit its air traffic control tower on Monday (November 6) morning.
Flights were unable to take-off until the power cut was resolved. The airport branded it a “temporary disruption”.
The only flight due into the airport on Monday morning, the 10.10am KLM arrival from Amsterdam, was cancelled.
Meanwhile, the only departing service out to the Netherlands this morning at 6am was delayed six-and-a-half hours until 12.30pm. A service due to leave for Amsterdam at 12 noon was also cancelled.

Power was restored again a short time later.
A spokesperson for Teesside Airport said: “We suffered a power cut this morning which caused some temporary disruption to our air traffic control services. Our engineering teams resorted power and the airport is now back operational. We are sorry for any passengers affected by this issue.”
The Northern Echo has contacted KLM for a comment.
