A North East charity which tackles homelessness will be given a funding boost by a local train operator as it celebrates its second birthday.

Newcastle-based train operator Lumo is set to fundraise and spread awareness of homeless charity The People's Kitchen from October 25-26, which provides meals, necessities and a "friendly face" to people across the city.

Over two days, the staff of the electric train provider will raise awareness of People’s Kitchen on the platform of Newcastle Station and on its social media feeds as part of its birthday celebrations.

Contactless fundraising will also take place on each journey, meaning Lumo will bring the message to over 7,000 passengers.

We’d like to thank Lumo for choosing our charity as a partner for the last year and helping us drive change and raise awareness of homelessness throughout Newcastle and beyond.”
