A police spokesperson told Sky News: "At 10.34am, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a black Range Rover and a BMW.

"An electricity pole had fallen into the road, causing the accident.

"Nobody was injured and everything was cleared by 1.05pm.

Storm Babet has already claimed three lives across the UK after major incidents were declared.

Parts of the country, including the north east of Scotland, have suffered torrential rain, severe flooding as well as high-speed winds.

The town of Brechin in Angus was recently evacuated over fears that heavy rain would threaten the effectiveness of nearby flood defences.
