Presenter Isla Traquair visited Skelmorlie to interview the clown and asked why they chose This Morning to be the programme they would be interviewed from.

He replied: "Everyone from India to the US of A wants to know the clown's identity. But what is a game without someone to play? Alison Hammond, what do you say?"

Isla queried: "So have you got something to say to Alison Hammond?"

The clown went on: "Does it help you sleep better at night telling yourself I'm just here to fright?

"The only mask that I can see is the one you wear when you say you don't fear me."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
